What can be better than a clean, quiet, safe, comfortable, adequately equipped and healthy learning environment? Good facilities are an important component of successful teaching and learning. IISB offers and enjoys good facilities which help a child to gain a proper perspective and the right blend of knowledge and skills. Our facilities include:
MAIN BUIDING: The main building of IISB is the heart of the school because it houses the principal’s office, the administrator’s office, the science lab, the computer lab, the library and the senior section (Grade 4-10)
NEW BUILDING: This imposing paragon is one of the newest “inventions” of the school. None can be compared to it within the leaps and bounds of this city. It houses the primary section and the music room.
Classrooms: IISB can boast of spacious, air-conditioned classrooms which are conducive for easy assimilation of relevant information. They are neat, well ventilated and generate the required environment to interact and learn.
Playground: All work and no play, they say, makes Jack a dull boy. IISB has plenty of space for kids to express themselves physically and burn off excess calories. Teachers and assistants remain standby each day during break time to ensure safety of students while playing.
Sports and Aerobics facilities: Education is an all round development of an individual. IISB provides a wide range of facilities in games and sports. Also, our relationship with the outside community gives us access to swimming facilities at Hotel Du Lac and track and field events at Stade Réné Plévan. All students practice this on a regular basis in the form of aerobics, races, jumps, football and basketball.
Music Classes: Music classes are taken from Playgroup to Grade 5. It is especially popular amongst the younger kids who are taught number of nursery rhymes. Senior students also enjoy the various melodies taught by their music teacher and the high and the low notes. Recently introduced, flute classes are also taken.
Computer has become an integral part of our life. Computer Science is taught as a subject from Kindergarten – Grade 10. We provide the best of information technology in the most child- friendly way. Facilities for teaching and learning in an electronic environment abound. More are acquired everyday in order to move along with the trend of events in this age of computer advancement.
Many students today are ambitious to pursue careers in Science. For this, IISB provides adequately equipped and excellent Science laboratory. In addition, faculty staff of the right kind is available and ready to deliver.
IISB Library is well equipped in every sense. We provide a rich collection of books, magazines and newspapers. Keeping up with the latest technology, we also encourage our students to read e-books which enables our students to read a large number of books from a virtual library within a relatively short period of time. This makes reading fun, broadens their knowledge and helps them to understand the world around them better.
Staff room: The school provides two staff rooms; one in each building to enable teachers complete their work, cool off and socialize during their free periods.
